About The Young Disabled Cooperative South Africa
The Young Disabled Cooperative South Africa was established in 2022 and officially registered as a Non-Profit Organisation in September 2024.
Founded by passionate advocates, the organization works to empower young people with disabilities through mentorship, skills development, leadership training, and advocacy initiatives.
What began as a small support network has grown into a thriving cooperative serving communities across South Africa.

Support for persons with disabilities in South Africa
In South Africa, nearly three million people (or 7.5% of the population) live with a disability according to the 2011 census. The Government-administered Disability Grant provides support for adults with disabilities, including persons with chronic illnesses, such as HIV/AIDS.
